The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Nodoubtaboutthat, trained by Shane Crawley, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his charge ran poorly on her last run in Tramore, and he felt that she needed that run and has improved in fitness since then. Mr. Crawley added that he had been hoping to run his charge sooner however she had been balloted out on a couple of occasions and he has been training her cautiously given that she can be difficult at times. Evidence was also heard from Mr. Andrew Shaw, Irish Horse Regulatory Board Senior National Hunt Handicapper, who stated that Nodoubtaboutthat showed nothing on her last run to indicate that she would improve, however today's contest was a poor race in which the favourite ran disappointingly. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Back To Bataan, trained by Mervyn Torrens, at the request of the Stewards and reported that the animal had numerous skin abrasions but was otherwise post race normal.

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight is 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
