Permission was given for The Kodi Kid (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Shortly after leaving the stalls, Lincoln Park (GB), placed sixth, shifted left-handed bumping The Kodi Kid (IRE), placed fourth, which itself had jumped awkwardly, resulting in it making contact with Revich (IRE), unplaced, which was inconvenienced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Muntadab (IRE), appeared to show improved from compared with its previous run at Musselburgh on 20 August 2021 where the gelding finished last of nine, beaten by 8¾ lengths.
Roger Fell’s explanation that Muntadab (IRE) appreciated being able to dominate from the front on this occasion, was noted.
Following the race, David Probert, the rider of Nebulosa (GB), which started second-favourite and finished unplaced, and Mark Crehan, the rider of Revich (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, both reported that their mounts were slowly away; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of both horses failed to reveal any abnormalities.
