FormscanBy Tom Weekes - PLAY IT AGAIN ZAAM was well held in two recent runs but had previously won twice in May and drops to claimer company. He was a course-and-distance winner in early May and while he probably needs to bring his best form to win, he is a largely dependable four-year-old who is ideally suited by this distance and will appreciate any softening of the ground. Nine-time winning nine-year-old Magnetic North is the star performer in the race and while he ran well on debut for new connections at Limerick recently, running over a mile doesn't suit nowadays. Lohengrin has shown nice form recently and while he is a few pounds 'wrong', should compete being well suited by this distance.
For four years old and upwards to be claimed for #15,000 or less (Minimum claiming price #4,000) and that at entry ARE RATED 75 OR LESS

I was delighted to see the rain but at the same time it made it loose. He looked very impressive the last day on real tacky ground as it slows them down and he can plough through it,. Today on looser ground they are able to get going and stay going and he just ground it out. It's nice to get two in a week. The runner-up has good form around here and it was a good weight carrying performance by her. We looked well in on paper but realistically he's been trying to win a 65 for a long time and it's nice to win a couple. He's in again on Friday (at Leopardstown) and we might take a chance again, we'll see how he is. He seems to be thriving on his racing and he might have got a bit of confidence for winning. We'll see what the ground is and we might roll the dice again.

Miqdaad only cost me a thousand guineas in the October horses in training sale. I just thought he hadn't run that badly in his one run (at Yarmouth) and while he had had a fracture when with Godolphin, we took a punt on him. He's a cheap horse, but he'll cover some of the better ones. Mike O'Brien (owner) jumped at him straight away and I'm delighted for too as he is a year without a winner. He's a good owner and he always supports me for three or four horses. He keeps buying new ones, so he deserves a winner.
