the boys (owners) are very good as we weren't thinking a lot when we got him, so to win three is great. It's great for a little yard like ours to have a horse like him, he's become very consistent for us and hopefully he can win again for the boys during the summer. he loves the ground and I was actually very confident. He probably needed it the last day as he is very hard to get fit. If you look through his runs for the last three seasons with me, it's been his third run that he's done something. As fit as I try to get him at home it seems to take him those couple of runs, he's a big gross horse. He probably should be jumping but last year went so well we decided to keep at this. If the rain keeps coming we'll keep going. It's not that he's ground dependent but he can just handle it better than other horses.

He ran well the last day, so we were confident enough as he had form on the ground. The last day we landed in front, but it actually may be the right way to ride him around these tighter tracks anyway. I was just hoping it would stay on!. With Rob claiming 5lb off him, we knew he had a nice light weight on his back. He was in great form at home. I couldn't believe on Monday when he got drawn one, I thought all the stars were aligned. It is a little family team, but it means a lot. I'm in Batterstown just beside Fairyhouse, so it is literally half an hour up the road. There might be a few celebrations tonight!

I'm delighted for the syndicate as they have kept faith, well most of them!. He ran very consistently last year but just didn't get the breaks at times. The horse deserved it more than anything. He's kind of like a pet at home, he's a favourite. I'm delighted for the lads to get a win and hopefully he can build from this. It's never weight that's going to stop him, it's just his head. Hopefully now that he's got one he might keep going a little bit because he works like a decent horse. Hopefully this can change his mind a bit. The last day he was a bit wired before the race and ran no sort of race. We gave him a little break and freshened him up and it did the job.
