That was a really good performance and what I like about this horse is that he really loves jumping. When he sees a fence, he wants to jump it and that’s a huge asset in this game. He jumps, he stays and does everything right. He’s learned to settle now and is much easier to ride. He looks a natural for staying chasing and he’ll go for one of the staying chases in Cheltenham.

Lucid Dreams kept him honest the whole way and Mark (Walsh, jockey) had to change to plan B and drop him in behind. He jumped well when Mark needed him and a great performance to win five in a row. If the weather stays dry we might get another run into him and we could then give him a mid-season break and come back in the springtime. I’d rather keep him to the minimum trip if I could but he can go out to 2m4f. Mark felt maybe he didn’t want the ground as soft as it was today.

He’s a big, strong horse but has been too keen in graded races so we decided to go for a handicap and Andrew Shaw gave him the same mark as he has over hurdles. He was really gutsy to battle back. He can stay three miles but he has to learn to settle and we ran him back quick as racing will settle him. We’ll try and find something for him in the next three weeks or so. It was a suitable race being for second-season novices and the ground was key,. We had aimed for a race at Killarney this summer but it turned up soft, although he still ran well. It was Plan A to jump out and hope that he would jump well as he has jumped well at home. I think he can jump better than he did today but he got a good start and kept it up,. I was a little apprehensive the ground was so dry but maybe it was more advantageous to us than the opposition. This was probably the race I should have went for at the start of the week and while the other race looked like it was cutting up, Sharjah (winner) was still in it. He came out of Tuesday's race well, we fired him out in the field yesterday and he was bucking and squealing so we said we'd take our chance. He is a tough horse and ran to a good level over hurdles. There are a good few of Pioneer Racing down here for the festival and hopefully we might get another win with him.

she was brilliant. I've said from day one that the hardest part is just getting her out there as she's very temperamental. She has her own way of doing things, we work around her and it works. That race was made for her, I wouldn't normally be keen on running them back too quick, especially a novice three-miler chaser, but she seemed well and the conditions of today's race were very suitable. Those rated novice chases are just brilliant. We'll try and look for something similar, depending on what the handicapper does.

It was a pleasant surprise as I was hoping he'd run well but didn't think he'd win. It must be very dead and tacky ground as he had the strength to gallop through it and Jody said if something came to him, he'd have galloped on again. He just kept galloping in the ground and extra two furlongs made a big difference to him. We'll probably give him a spin in a winners' bumper and he is a real winter jump horse for next season. It is Colm's (O'Connell, whose father owned Un De Sceaux) first winner in his own name. This is his first horse and Tolic, who used to ride Un De Sceaux, led him up so I'm delighted. I don't know what happened High City Roller (beaten favourite) yet but maybe with his pedigree, the ground mightn't have suited. There could be more than that because he was never going but we'll have another day.

I'm delighted with that and he is a horse who had shown plenty of promise and Sean Doyle (point to point handler) recommended him. I'm delighted for his owner Peter Davies who is a great supporter of ours. We liked him at home but you always have to do it on the track. He is by Blue Bresil and is from the same cross as Constitution Hill - both are out of King's Theatre mares. Whether or not he is him or not I don't know and we have a long way to go for that but it is nice to win a maiden hurdle. He's normally fast asleep at home so it surprised me he was keen. Paul (Townend, on Mercurey) and Rachael were taking each other on a bit, Rachael opted to do what she did and it worked out thankfully. I don't think we need to rush and there is the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Hurdle at Punchestown in the middle of January and that might be the race for him. Christmas would feel too close to me but we'll see and enjoy today. He has a lot of pace so we will stick two two miles.

That was great, I'm delighted with that. He jumped brilliant and I thought Darragh was brilliant on him. It's lovely to see him back to form again, he's got a lot of class. He was very good here back in January and it's nice to get him back. He loves jumping and Darragh said at the first one down the back he couldn't see anything so he just squeezed up and he took off, he winged it. I love that with those two milers, it's always good to watch. I'm delighted for Cheveley Park. We said we'd come here and just see where we were and obviously we'll look at all those better races now. We'll get him home and see. I think he goes on any ground, he won on very testing ground here in January. I worried that the ground might just be a bit too good for him, but he seemed to love it. There is the Tingle Creek or the race at Leopardstown.

He's a lovely horse. We got him off Sean O'Keeffe's Dad and we were thrilled when we got him. We like him a lot and we would have been disappointed if he wasn't knocking on the door today. He'll probably go to the field for a bit of a rest as he's only five and I'd say he's on the go a long time, even before we got him. I think he could do with a rest. He had been going well and doing everything right. He was going well in a point-to-point (at Fairyhouse) when he fell and it looked good on the video anyway, we kind of bought him on the strength of that. The owners (the Roberto Syndicate) have had Agent Boru with me for years and he came good again this season. We were looking for a replacement for him as he's ten now and, thank God, it looks like we have a lovely replacement for him. They are a lucky bunch of fellas.
