HILARY’S BOY, trained by Les Eyre, was withdrawn as the trainer had indicated at declaration stage that the colt should be withdrawn if the tongue tie came adrift on the way to post, and could not be re-fitted.
Inside the final furlong, Naughty Nadine (GB), placed fourth, hung quickly right causing the rider of Charming Wally (GB), placed fifth, to take a slight check but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Naughty Nadine (GB).
Following the race, Jason Watson reported that Charming Wally (GB) was slowly away.
