T.N. Brett, rider of Oscer Romero trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped

The Stewards interviewed J.C. Canavan, rider of Rossmore's Pride, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who acknowledged that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(h)(arm above shoulder) and having taken his record into account cautioned him on this occasion.

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
Riders - Confined to Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii).
