Marie Bagland looks after him at home. She puts in a lot of effort and has done a great job with him. He wants better ground and we were hoping it would be loose today. He ran very well on loose ground at Fairyhouse one day but when it gets very holding, he struggles on it. I went through the form of all the horses in the race, they all seemed to be the same, they all want a bit of better ground. We took a chance and I thought Paddy gave him an unbelievably positive ride. We will wait until after Punchestown with him now. I think he'll continue for the summer on a bit of nicer ground. There is no plan B with him, he just goes out in front. It's great to get a winner, Oliver, Marie and the Barden family are so supportive, it's fantastic. The yard is going great but we could do with a good horse.

We missed last summer because of Covid and he didn’t handle winter ground. He got beaten one day in Fairyhouse (in March) on soft ground and I was disgusted because I thought that he’d win. He got a bit of confidence here over 2m5f (in May) and I thought, given the way he won here the last day, that there might be more to come with a step up in trip. We missed Galway and waited for this race back here and I’m just delighted it worked out. He got the trip really well, so it looks like over a trip on nice ground he could be reasonably effective, so we’ll see to what level we can get. He’s an exciting horse.

It's smashing to have a double for the Bardens. They are two lovely horses and appreciated the nicer ground. Things just worked out for them both. They went a nice gallop in front of them and the races suited. The lads gave them two very good rides.

That’s for the best, most supportive and amazing owner (Oliver Barden) any man could wish to train for,. If I were ever to get a superstar horse I’d hope it would be for him. He’s always had nice horses with me but for the last I don’t know how long everything that could go wrong went wrong. It might be only an 80 to 95 but it means a lot to get that.
