Permission was given for both Azure Blue (IRE) and Khaadem (IRE) to go early to post, wearing a red hood; for Mill Stream (IRE) to wear a hood in the preliminaries; and for Montassib (GB), Swingalong (IRE) and Marshman (GB) to all wear a red hood to post, Marshman (GB) also wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Mill Stream (IRE), lost its left-fore shoe on the way to post and had to be reshod, causing a delay to the start of this race.
Tom Marquand, the rider of Tiber Flow (IRE) had fallen approximately 1 furlong from the line.
The rider and Sean Levey, the rider of Shouldvebeenaring (GB) were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, however William Buick, the rider of Mill Stream (IRE) could not be interviewed as he had left the course.
As a result of this, the enquiry was adjourned until the 16 May at York racecourse.
Approximately 1 furlong from the line, Washington Heights (GB), placed fourth, shifted slightly left-handed, causing Swingalong (IRE), unplaced, to become momentarily short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Washington Heights (GB).
