Approximately 3½ furlongs out, Going To The Moon (IRE), placed second, edged right at the same time as Alaskan Point (GB), which was later pulled up, hung left, resulting in Alaskan Point (GB) being steadied when becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of Going To The Moon (IRE) but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Going To The Moon (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong, involving The Goat (GB), placed third, ridden by David Probert and Red Fort (FR), unplaced, ridden by Dane O’Neill.
Probert was cautioned for careless riding as he had angled right when insufficiently clear, causing O’Neill to take a slight precautionary check.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that Fox Island (GB), placed fourth, hung left under pressure in the final 2 ½ furlongs.
