- Stewards Report
Prior to this race, the representative of Iain Jardine was asked to explain why they were running SHE’SASUPERMACK (IRE) here at Sedgefield on going described as Good, having reported the mare would prefer a slower surface following its run on Good ground here at Sedgefield on 5 April 2019.
Iain Jardine’s representative explained that there are very few suitable options available for the mare and they were happy for the mare to take her chance on the well watered ground at Sedgefield today.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of SHE’SASUPERMACK (IRE), ridden by Ross Chapman and trained by Iain Jardine which was held up towards the rear before staying on in the home straight to finish third of nine, beaten 13 lengths.
The rider and the trainer representative were interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated his instructions were to sit 4th or 5th with plenty daylight and get the mare jumping.
He added that the mare was hampered by a faller 3 out, and made a mistake 2 out before being hampered again at the final hurdle.
He further added that he had pushed the mare out hands and heels to the line and in his opinion had obtained the best possible placing.
The trainer’s representative confirmed these instructions and stated she was satisfied that the ride accorded with the instructions given.
Their explanations were noted.
