The winner, King Crimson (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Bath on 7 June 2019 where the gelding finished twelfth of thirteen, beaten by 7 lengths.
John Butler's representative's explanation that the gelding appreciated the return to Brighton, where it has won previously, was noted.
Following the race, John Gallagher reported that Ladweb (GB), placed seventh, had a breathing problem, Sophie Ralston reported that Essaka (IRE), placed second, hung right-handed under pressure and Scott McCullagh reported that Big Time Maybe (IRE), placed sixth, was slowly away.
