An enquiry was held to consider interference turning into the home straight wnen GLENDEVON (USA), placed second, ridden by Jamie Spencer, interfered with MARATHA (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Fran Berry, who in turn interfered with the winner, PRIMERO (FR), ridden by Martin Harley. Spencer was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed for a considerable distance without sufficient correction, causing Berry and Harley to be carried off their intended lines, resulting in Berry taking a slight check.
P. J. McDonald reported that VENTURA KNIGHT (IRE), placed fifth, was slowly away.
