Permission was given for both Reina Del Mar (IRE) and In The Breeze (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Approximately 2½ furlongs out, Reina Del Mar (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed making contact with Oriental Art (GB), placed fifth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Reina Del Mar (IRE).
The performance of King Of Tsavo (GB), which started favourite and finished last of the ten runners, beaten by 15 lengths, was considered.
It was noted that Roger Charlton could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion.
King Of Tsavo (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Edward Greatrex reported that Reina Del Mar (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run approximately 1½ furlongs out.
