The Stewards requested a report from J.P. Murtagh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Springbank, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Valerie Keatley, Authorised Representative for the trainer reported that this horse got crowded in the early stages at Leopardstown last time and dropped out. The rider was instructed to ride the horse more handily today and get him into a rhythm as he can be lazy. This may have led to the apparent improvement in form today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Silvertown, trained by A. Oliver, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
S.T. McCullagh, rider of The Truant trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.
An extended handicap for three years old only rated 50-80
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
