Inside the final furlong, Wild Hero (IRE), placed second, shifted right-handed onto Rhyme Scheme (IRE), placed fourth, which made contact with Goodwood Rebel (IRE), unplaced, causing Formality (GB), unplaced, to be momentarily eased, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Wild Hero (IRE).
Following the race, Cieren Fallon reported that Formality (GB), which started joint second-favourite and finished last of the nine runners, ran freely to post.
