I'm delighted with him. He's owned by my friend Michael Ryan, he got the horse for very handy money,. I was actually offered him at a minimum price myself as a young horse. I didn't take him and offered him to Michael. That's life and I'm sorry I don't own him now but I'm delighted my good friend Michael does. I knew he'd stay because he's got a very good pedigree, his dam is a half-sister to Fair Along. I was happy enough coming down the straight that we'd gone a nice gallop. D.F. O'Regan, rider of Hans Gruber (GB) trained by J.Motherway, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout and was pulled up after running very wide into the straight following difficulty in trying to steer the animal

D.N. Russell, rider of Au Fleuron (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount whinnied after passing the finish

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Au Fleuron (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

J.B. Foley, rider of Petrocco trained by Peter Croke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not travel during the early part of this race

The Stewards interviewed Vincent O'Brien, Authorised representative for Matthew J. Smith, trainer, regarding the late arrival of their horses Dartan (GB) and I Am Spider Man into the Parade Ring. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that rider's K.M. Donoghue and P.J. Carberry were placed in the previous race which delayed them weighing out to ride Mr Smith's horses. Furthermore Dartan (GB) was difficult to saddle and the application of a tongue strap required additional help. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Matthew J. Smith was in breach of Rule 32(ii) but having taken into consideration his clean previous record and some mitigating circumstances, they cautioned him on this occasion through his representative. Furthermore, they informed Vincent O'Brien to relay to Matthew Smith that he must have sufficient raceday help when running multiple horses in the future. Mr Robert Dore, Chairman of the Acting Stewards absented himself from this enquiry and Justice Leonie Reynolds chaired it.
