She stayed on well. It suited her the way they went hard in front as she had something to run at,. She handled the ground better than I thought she would. She had form on yielding but it's quite heavy out there now.

S. Foley, rider of Shirley trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost her action about 1 furlong out and was eased. The Stewards requested a report from John Joseph Murphy, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Best Not Argue, winner, as compared with its recent form. George Murphy, authorised representative of the trainer reported that their filly won last year in Galway with an ease in the ground, and the Soft going today would have suited her. He added after her last run at Cork on 12th June, her rider Shane Foley told the trainer to allow her stride on in her races and make use her big stride, not to hold her up, and they used these tactics today. Also, the stable form has improved recently with a number of winners of late, and any apparent improvement in form could be attributed to a combination of these factors. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
