Permission was given for She Do (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only, for Mountain Brave (GB) to be mounted in the chute and the filly wore earplugs throughout the preliminaries which were removed upon arrival at the start.
Prior to this race, Stuart Williams was asked to explain why he was running Queen Kahlua (GB) here at Newmarket on going described as Good, having declared the filly a non-runner also at Newmarket on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that in their opinion, the ground was riding faster than described at Newmarket previously and that Queen Kahlua (GB) would be better suited by today's ground.
Following the race, Oisin Murphy reported that Tenaya Canyon (GB), placed sixth, stumbled in the dip.
