Permission was given for Villazon (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.

Shortly after the start Beyond Words (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed carrying Pacific (GB), unplaced, onto Thirtyfourstitches (IRE), unplaced, which was briefly inconvenienced.

After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and had not improved the placing of Beyond Words (IRE).

An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving Pacific (GB), unplaced, ridden by Rob Hornby; Alta Comedia (GB), unplaced, ridden by Franny Norton; Beyond Words (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Rossa Ryan and Silver Bobbin (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Trevor Whelan.

The interference was found to be accidental as Beyond Words (IRE) had hung left-handed whilst racing greenly despite its rider’s best efforts to correct the filly, hampering Pacific (GB), which in turn caused Silver Bobbin (IRE) to be tightened for room and resulted in it bumping the hindquarters of Alta Comedia (GB), which became unbalanced.

The Stewards noted that for some distance approaching 2 furlongs Composite (GB), placed third, was unable to improve its position due to being trapped on the heels of the weakening Alta Comedia (GB), unplaced, and Silver Bobbin (IRE), unplaced.

Following the race; Dougie Costello reported that Villazon (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.

Laura Coughlan reported that Mazaminsky (GB), unplaced, hung badly right-handed.

Franny Norton reported that Alta Comedia (GB), unplaced, lost its action approaching 2 furlongs out; the Veterinary Officer examined the filly post-race and found it to be lame right-hind.

Rossa Ryan reported that Beyond Words (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed.

Trevor Whelan reported that Silver Bobbin (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
