The winner, Jakacan (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Catterick on 29 September 2021 where the gelding finished eighth of nine runners, beaten by 9½ lengths.
The representative of Declan Carroll could offer no explanation for Jakacan (IRE)’s improvement, other than the gelding was making its all-weather debut on this occasion.
His comments were noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Shane Kelly reported that Strategic Fortune (IRE), placed fourth, was slowly away.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Bare Grils (IRE), placed eighth, found the gelding to be lame on its right-fore.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Beryl The Peril (IRE), placed second, lost its right-hind shoe.
