Permission was given for Navagio (IRE) and Dashing Darcey (GB) to both wear a red hood to the start.
The winner, Flying Finn (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 28 June 2024, where the filly finished thirteenth of fourteen runners, beaten 24 lengths.
The explanation given by Adrian Keatley that the filly had a proven wet track record and appreciated returning to Soft, Heavy in places going on this occasion was noted.
Flying Finn (IRE) was routine tested.
The performance of Skipper (GB), which started favourite and finished seventh of eight runners, beaten 23½ lengths, was considered.
The explanation given by the representative of Tom Clover that the gelding was unsuited by the ground which was officially described as Soft, Heavy in places and would prefer less testing conditions, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer examined Skipper (GB) post-race and had nothing to report.
