Inside the final furlong, the winner, Wild Hope (GB), hung quickly left-handed despite the riders best efforts to correct the gelding, carrying Polyphony (IRE), placed second, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Wild Hope (GB).
The winner Wild Hope (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 29 June 2020 where the gelding finished last of ten runners, beaten by 16 ½ lengths.
The representative of Kevin Ryan explained that Wild Hope (GB) benefited for the application of first time cheek pieces.
His explanation was noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, David Egan reported that HIBERIAN WARRIOR (USA), unplaced, ran free to post.
Daniel Muscutt reported that Turn On The Charm (FR), placed third, hung left-handed under pressure.
