The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Chief Suspect, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, Carrie Bow Cay, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fourth and Le Prix Du Saint (USA), ridden by P.J. Smullen, unplaced, where it appeared that Chief Suspect checked in running. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Manning had ridden carelessly and suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.
