Calorie on outing number nine, deservedly got off the mark when landing the Dundalk Equine Clinic Maiden under Gary Carroll.
Equipped with cheek-pieces for the second time, the Sea The Stars filly saw it out well – first try at a mile - to beat Bogardus by half a length.
Carroll, opening up a nice new link with winning trainer Johnny Murtagh, said: "Johnny was a bit worried about her staying the mile but she jumped smartly and has a great cruising speed.
"I think she nearly needed the mile in the end."
The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Chief Suspect ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, Carrie Bow Cay ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fourth and Le Prix Du Saint (USA), ridden by P.J. Smullen, unplaced, where it appeared that Chief Suspect checked in running.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Manning had ridden carelessly and suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.
