We went wrong with her last year by running on the flat and in a hurdle race as we should have stuck chasing as she is an out and out chaser,. I had her ready for the (abandoned) Bishopscourt Cup and I did fancy her today but I thought the ground would be better. Rachael gave her a great ride and did everything I asked; you can't get better than Rachael and she is a very good pilot. We'll see what the handicapper does but she might go to Listowel on the Monday, if not there is a race in Navan the week after.

The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Joseph Hayes, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Flirting Lesa, placed first, as compared with her previous run in a steeplechase at Tipperary on the 19th July 2020
Patrick Joseph Hayes reported that his charge had not raced since September 2019 when making her reappearance at Tipperary. He reported that he was disappointed with her run that day where she ran lifeless and did not jump fluently. He added that following that run he gave the mare a short break and then ran her in a Ladies Race at Tramore when she finished fifth. He felt that the run at Tipperary was a once off situation and she appears to have returned to form since then. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-109
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight is 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
