He had his wind done at Christmas and maybe needed the run the last day after the break. He didn't run a bad race last time and Ben got to know him there. The plan was to come here and he probably came on a bit from the last day. It's great to see him winning and the syndicate (Force Fifteen), which includes my sister Rebecca, have had plenty of faith in him. He was rated 117 as a four-year-old, he was too high, and he was only getting dropped a pound the whole time. He's rated 105 over fences. He'll actually be better around tighter tracks, I was a bit worried about here but in fairness he gave him a great ride. He was left alone and he obviously didn't go too quick. Paul W Flynn, trainer

A.P. Kelly, rider of Wild Dollar, trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up having burst a blood vessel

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wild Dollar, trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nostrils post race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the hurdle in the straight on the first circuit involving Boola Boola, ridden by C.D Smithers, unplaced, and Firstman (FR), ridden by L.A. McKenna, placed third, where it appeared that Boola Boola checked when Firstman (Fr) was returning back to his racing line having jumped to the right. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C.D. Smithers stated that his mount raced free to the hurdle and landed almost upsides Firstman (Fr) which had jumped right but he took back his mount as he did not want to be that close and received minimal interference. L.A. McKenna stated that his mount jumped to the right and being mindful of the number of horses on his outer he returned to his racing line and was also aware that Boola Boola was behind him on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that L.A. McKenna was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned L.A. McKenna on this occasion.
