Approaching the final furlong the winner, Tasmanian Legend (IRE) hung left-handed despite the riders best efforts to straighten the gelding, crowding Wait And Hope (GB), placed second, onto Rising Force (IRE), placed third, which was tightened for room on the rail and made contact with the hind quarters of Wait And Hope (GB), unbalancing that runner, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Tasmanian Legend (IRE).
Following the race, Marco Ghiani reported that Super Hit (FR), placed fourth, ran too freely.
