The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Gandolfo, ridden by N.J. Ryan, unplaced and Grand Citadel, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fourth where it appeared they briefly made slight contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Cleary, rider of Copie Conforme, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. J. Cleary stated he felt his mount was feeling the ground today and was running around and his final strike was to keep her straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found J. Cleary was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for four racedays
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Grand Citadel, trained by Micky Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the track and ran off the home bend.
An extended handicap for three years old only (70 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
