Permission was given for Woodhay Whisper (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Approaching the final ½ a furlong Sands Of Havana (GB), placed third, lugged quickly left-handed becoming unbalanced and giving a light bump to Li Ban (IRE), placed fourth, who was carried off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Sands Of Havana (GB).
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that Sands Of Havana (GB), placed third, was slowly away and ran green.
