Victory March, trained by Seb Spencer, did not enter the parade ring due to a problem with the gelding's bridle.

Mark Winn, the rider of Daheer (USA), drawn 8, was slow to remove the blindfold.

Winn's explanation that the blind got caught on the bridle and required 2 attempts to remove, was noted.

Rounding the first bend, a hard pulling Cedar Cage (GB), unplaced, was shifted right-handed when it ran onto the heels of Mickydee (GB), unplaced, hampering Daheer (USA), placed fifth, which was carried wider off its intended line.

After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the 2 furlong marker involving Daheer (USA), placed fifth, ridden by Mark Winn; Cedar Cage (GB), unplaced, ridden by Cam Hardie; Mickydee (GB), unplaced, ridden by Dougie Costello; Tequilamockingbird (GB), placed third, ridden by Callum Shepherd and Greystoke (GB), placed second, ridden by Rossa Ryan.

It was established that initially Cedar Cage (GB) had weakened quickly causing Tequilamockingbird (GB) which was following to become very awkwardly placed behind Cedar Cage (GB), with Shepherd then angling his mount slightly right-handed to avoid clipping its heels.

Winn was suspended for 3 days for careless riding thereafter, as he had made insufficient effort to prevent his mount from edging left-handed in a tightly packed field going into the bend when not fully clear of Mickydee (GB), forcing Costello to take a check, which in turn caused Greystoke (GB) to stumble when being switched right-handed by Ryan to avoid heels.

It was further found that Tequilamockingbird (GB) had been very badly hampered when it independently clipped the heels of Cedar Cage (GB) after Shepherd had been unable to obtain clear running.

Following the race; Cam Hardie reported that Cedar Cage (GB), unplaced, ran too free in the early stages and Charles Bishop reported that The Thunderer (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
