Permission was given for Solar Park (IRE) to go early to post.

The Starter reported that Cappananty Con (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.

Charlie Wallis was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Cappananty Con (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the gelding would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.

Robert Havlin, the rider of Something Lucky (IRE), drawn 5, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.

After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 1 day.

An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Something Lucky (IRE), placed second, ridden by Robert Havlin interfered with Cappananty Con (GB), placed fourth, ridden by William Carson, which in turn interfered with Excellent George (GB), placed third, ridden by Matteo Pinna, which in turn interfered with Awsaaf (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Franny Norton.

Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Pinna was accompanied in the enquiry by Trainer Stuart Williams.

Havlin was suspended for 5 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift left-handed when insufficiently clear causing Carson to have to take a check which in turn caused Pinna to be tight for room, resulting in Norton having to take a significant check against the rail and lose his position.
