Permission was given for Tashi (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Prior to this race, Tom Ward was asked to explain why he was running Tashi (IRE) here at Newmarket having reported that the mare was unsuited by the going, officially described as Soft on its previous run and stated that she would have preferred a quicker surface.
The trainer’s representative explanation that he wanted to give Tashi (IRE) another run on turf before the end of the season and was willing to let the mare take her chance on the ground officially described as Heavy, was noted.
The winner, Laafi (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 6 Oct 2023, where the gelding finished sixth of ten runners, beaten 18 ¼ lengths.
The explanation given by William Haggas’ representative that the gelding was able to relax in front having benefitted from an easy lead was noted.
Laafi (FR), was routine tested.
