Permission was given for Regal Director (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
Approaching the first bend, Regal Director (IRE), placed third, edged marginally left causing Celestial Force (IRE), placed fifth, to be slightly checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Regal Director (IRE).
Following the race, Rowan Scott reported that Archie Perkins (IRE), placed fourth, hung right-handed and P J McDonald reported that Celestial Force (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed in the home straight.
