The winner, Secret Strength (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield Park on 21 January 2023 where the gelding finished eleventh of twelve, beaten by 6¼ lengths.
Jim Boyle’s explanation that Secret Strength (IRE) benefitted from being able to race with more cover on this occasion, was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Deon Le Roux, the rider of Dutch Admiral (IRE), unplaced, reported that his right stirrup leather snapped shortly after the start, causing him to lose all chance.
The stirrup leather was inspected and as it was found to be in a serviceable condition, no further action was taken.
