Leaving the stalls, Lawmans Blis (IRE), placed third, jumped right-handed causing interference to the winner, Alerta Roja (GB), and Moonlit Night (IRE), placed second, at the same time as Coldstream (IRE), placed seventh, jumped left-handed causing the rider of Sassy Go Lucky (GB), placed sixth, to become tight for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the first bend, a free-running Coldstream (IRE), placed seventh, hung left-handed and was carried wide by Moonlit Night (IRE), placed second, which in turn was moved out by Prey For Glory (GB), placed fifth, when the gelding was hanging right-handed off the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Charles Bishop reported that Coldstream (IRE), which started second-favourite and finished seventh, ran too free and hung left-handed throughout.
