Permission was given for Bas Bleu (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Leaving the stalls Billiegee (IRE), placed second, jumped right-handed bumping Dream Selection (GB), placed fifth, at the same time as the winner, Rocket Warrior (IRE), jumped left-handed carrying Etretat (GB), placed fourth, off its intended line before a short distance later that gelding stumbled independently and moved further left into the path of Dream Selection (GB), which was hampered and made contact with the quarters of Billiegee (IRE).
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Rocket Warrior (IRE) or Billiegee (IRE).
Rounding the home bend, Etretat (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the gelding, carrying the winner, Rocket Warrior (IRE) wider off its intended racing line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Bas Bleu (IRE) which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Ed Walker’s explanation that the filly was unsuited by the drop back in trip from 1 mile 4 furlongs to 1 mile 1 furlong on this occasion, was noted.
