He (Cian Macredmond) gave him a great ride and I think the ground is the key to him. He had good form on good ground around a bend in Leopardstown when second to Real Appeal who won the group race last night. He'll go straight to the Scurry Handicap (in the Curragh) now. He's a rock solid horse. We had him in Dubai but it didn't work out for him. Hopefully there is a little bit more left in him, he takes a little bit of coaxing. That's beautiful ground out there today and I have to say they've done a fabulous job, it's like a carpet and there's no jar in it or anything like that. M.A. Gallagher, rider of Midnight Fire trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount about one and a half furlongs from the finish lost his action, got unbalanced and hung inwards

The Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final furlong involving Dandy Spirit, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced, Swiss Ace (GB), ridden by W.M. Lordan, unplaced and Woodrow, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, unplaced, where it appeared that D.P. McDonogh stopped riding. Having viewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted

Having viewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the post race reports as submitted by the riders, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Midnight Fire, trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race and furthermore was not tracking up properly when trotting post race

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (95 = 10st)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
