The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Powerful Nation, ridden by A.J

Slattery, placed second, and Alcedo Atthis, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced, where it appeared that Alcedo Atthis suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.P. McDonogh stated that his mount suffered interference when the horse in front of him moved slightly right. A.J. Slattery stated that his mount was having its first run, ran very green and hung right in the closing stages. He concluded by stating that he had corrected his mount as quickly as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that A.J. Slattery had taken reasonable steps to avoid causing interference and were satisfied that no further action was warranted

D. McMonagle, rider of Barton Key, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run in the closing stages.
