The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Algonquin (GB), ridden by K.J. Manning, placed first, Ningxai, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fourth and Gregoria, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action.
An extended handicap for three yrs old only (90 = 9st 12lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 12lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 90 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb. Subsequently, the excess over 90 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse
