Permission was given for Quarry Beach (GB) to go early to post.
Shane Kelly, the rider of Brunel Charm (GB), placed third, had appeared to ride less vigorously shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Kelly was suspended for 10 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that would have finished second.
Following the race, Adam Kirby reported that Irish Acclaim (IRE), unplaced, reared and stumbled leaving the stalls and the Veterinary Officer reported that Quarry Beach (GB), placed fourth, lost its right fore shoe.
