Tim Easterby had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Bollin Joan (GB) with no hind shoes.
Permission was also given for Howzer Black (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
The winner, Howzer Black (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ayr on 16 September 2021 where the gelding finished seventh of twelve, beaten by 15½ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Keith Dalgleish could offer no explanation for Howzer Black (IRE)’s improved form.
The performance of Wallem (GB), which started joint-favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Andrew Balding could offer no further explanation for the gelding’s performance other than a report from David Probert that Wallem (GB) had run flat.
Following the race, Ella McCain reported that Bollin Joan (GB), placed sixth, was denied a clear run and Hollie Doyle reported that Noble Masquerade (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
