Permission was given for Bowson Fred (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
Normal Equilibrium (GB), trained by Ivan Furtado, had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared cheekpieces, which were then located and fitted on the gelding before going to the start.
After interviewing his representative, Furtado was cautioned.
Leaving the stalls, Han Solo Berger (IRE), unplaced, drawn 11, jumped left-handed at the same time as Daschas (GB), unplaced, drawn 6, jumped right-handed, hampering Roundhay Park (GB), placed fourth, drawn 10, Manshood (IRE), placed third, drawn 9, Archimedes (IRE), unplaced, drawn 8, and Secretinthepark (GB), unplaced, drawn 7, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Just inside the final furlong, Han Solo Berger (IRE), unplaced, shifted left-handed at the same time as Pea Shooter (GB), unplaced, edged right-handed, causing the rider of Normal Equilibrium (GB), unplaced, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
On the run to the line, Roundhay Park (GB), placed fourth, edged left-handed at the same time as Nibras Again (GB), placed seventh, edged right-handed, causing Daschas (GB), unplaced, to be briefly short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Roundhay Park (GB) or Nibras Again (GB).
Following the race, Tom Queally reported that Han Solo Berger (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Manshood (IRE), placed third, lost its right fore shoe.
