Permission was given for Alkhat (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Shortly after the start Moonbootz (IRE), placed second, edged left-handed at the same time as Dorcha Knight (IRE), unplaced, lugged right-handed which resulted in both Party Island (IRE), unplaced, and Kafee (IRE), placed third, being inconvenienced but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving Glorious Rio (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Jason Watson, Moonbootz (IRE), placed second, ridden by P J McDonald, Dorcha Knight (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Raul Da Silva, Alpine Mistral (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Eoin Walsh and Life Matters (USA), unplaced, ridden by Cam Hardie.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Glorious Rio (IRE) had lugged right-handed at the same time as Moonbootz (IRE) edged slightly left-handed which resulted in Dorcha Knight (IRE) being crowded for room, which in turn caused a free running Alpine Mistral (IRE) to be checked across the running of Life Matters (USA) which was severely checked on the rail.
Approximately 5 furlongs out, Dorcha Knight (IRE), unplaced, shifted right-handed whilst racing greenly hampering Kafee (IRE), placed third, on two occasions, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the 2 furlong marker, Dorcha Knight (IRE), unplaced, lugged left-handed causing Alpine Mistral, unplaced, to be crowded for room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that The Saddle Rock (IRE), unplaced, lost its left- hind shoe.
