The Raceday Stewards received a request from David O'Brien, Authorised Representative for Gordon Elliott, trainer, to substitute the nominated rider K.C. Sexton (injured) with C.P. Millar (7lbs). Mr. O'Brien stated that the trainer was assured that K.C. Sexton would be available to ride today and only became aware that this was not the case at 12.38. He further stated that C.P. Millar was very familiar with the animal and as he works for Mr. Elliott, the owners wished to give him the opportunity. Mr Elliott confirmed this by phone and also stated that as this fixture was limited to certain riders it left him with limited options. Having considered the request, the Raceday Stewards allowed the request under the provisions of Regulation 3

The Raceday Stewards used their powers under the provisions of Rule 194(e) to grant a request from Thomas P.O'Connor, trainer of Coco Lightning to run his charge without the declared tongue tie as the animal resented its application and became fractious

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Charming Fortune trained by Gavin Cromwell was found to have blood at both nostrils post race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Petit Dejeuner trained by Mrs Denise Foster was found to have blood at both nostrils post race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Gorgeous Suspect (FR), ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, and trained by Aidan Anthony Howard. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. C.G. O'Dwyer, stated that his mount wears a hood and a ring bit as it is a difficult type that can be hard to settle and also stated that his mount was difficult on the way to the start. He said his instructions were to settle his mount, get it to jump and to do the best he could. When questioned about his riding in the closing stages, he stated that his mount favours the right side of the bit and although it may appear to some that the animal is hanging, he is satisfied that this is not the case. Aidan Anthony Howard, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He further added that his charge is very difficult which is why he led the animal around the parade ring himself. He concluded by stating that his charge can jump a little left on occasion. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Gorgeous Suspect (FR) was found to be lame post race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence and in particular the evidence of the Irish Horse Racing Board Veterinary Officer, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered
