Rhona Pindar, the rider of Betty Grable (IRE), placed fifth, had appeared to drop her hands shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Pindar was suspended for 2 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fourth.
Being a 7lb claimer, Pindar was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Betty Grable (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The winner Flower Power (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run on the flat 24 days ago at Redcar on 10 August 19 where the mare finished eighth of nine runners, beaten by 11 ½ lengths.
Tony Coyle’s explanation that the mare benefitted for the return to Catterick where she has previously won twice was noted.
Flower Power (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Harrison Shaw reported that Point Of Honour (IRE), placed second, stumbled when leaving the stalls.
Ben Robinson reported that Tommy Hallinan (IRE), placed third, became unbalanced on the undulations on this occasion.
