An enquiry was held into the faulty action of stall 8 in this race resulting in it being slow to open.

Rob Hornby, the rider of All My Love (IRE), placed fifth, the Starters and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.

Hornby stated that the mare anticipated the start, and thought that this could have jammed the gates causing his stall to open fractionally slow.

The Starters confirmed that checks had been performed prior to each of the races up to and including this one and had had no concerns.

They further added that there had been no more issues for the remainder of the meeting.

The Clerk of the Course reported that the stalls are serviced every three months and confirmed that they had been thoroughly checked before racing today.

Being satisfied that the correct procedures had been followed and that it was only Stall 8 that had been affected, so had not materially prejudiced a sufficient number of runners, the Stewards noted their explanations.

Fran Berry, the rider of Bamako Du Chatelet (FR), had fallen approximately 2½ furlongs out.

Rossa Ryan, the rider of Pure Country (GB) and Liam Jones, the rider of Ezanak (IRE) were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, but Berry was unable to be interviewed owing to his injuries.

It was found that the incident was accidental and caused by Bamako Du Chatelet (FR) edging slightly left as it came upsides to challenge and caught the right fore leg of Pure Country (GB), which caused the gelding to stumble and fall.
