We’re moving over to Malton in Yorkshire and some of the horses have gone over already. I’ve been reducing the numbers and will bring just six horses in total over with me but they are six that I think can all win.

The Stewards interviewed I.J. McCarthy, rider of Batcio (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that I.J. McCarthy was in breach of Regulations 10.3 (e), in that he used his whip on an area other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters, 10.3 (g), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and 10.3 (i), in that he used his whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended I.J. McCarthy for 8 racedays
D. Meyler, rider of Grand Partner trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake and pulled up
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ellie Mac, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
D.N. Russell, rider of Ellie Mac trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lbs)
