Foresee (GER) wore earplugs in the preliminaries which were removed at the start.
Shortly after the start, Postie (GB), placed second, lugged right-handed, crowding the winner Land Of Winter (FR) onto Misty Breese (IRE), unplaced, which was badly hampered, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, George Downing reported that Foresee (GER), placed sixth, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that Red Douglas (GB), which finished last of the eleven runners, bled from the nose.
Franny Norton reported that Guaracha (GB), unplaced, did not face the kickback on this occasion.
