Poet completed a double for Ballydolye and justified favouritism to do so in the hands of Johnny Murtagh. The son of Pivotal was joined by newcomer Kargali 150 yards out and it appeared as if the latter would go on to score but it caused a rejuvenated effort from Poet who went on to score by half a length.

Kargali will have learned a lot from today and should winning before too long and he may even be better over further but he should score over a mile beforehand.

One who looked a real good genuine sort was Mutqan who never gave in under Declan McDonogh and this run showed significant improvement from his two efforts last term.

Angels Story a filly by Galileo and representing the Coolcullen yard of Jim Bolger made a very encouraging debut and should certainly be one to keep an eye on in future outings.
